Renowned Bible teacher and #1 New York Times bestselling author Joyce Meyer shows readers how to realign their perspective on success to conform with God’s vision for the kind of life that brings us true purpose and lasting joy.
The world tells us that having a good job, owning your own business, money, fame, and influence are all important for a successful life. If we don’t have them, we feel like a failure. But even when we achieve them, we still end up unhappy, unfulfilled, or lonely.
God wants us to be successful, but His definition of success is not the same as the world's definition. The truth is, God’s way of achieving the dreams and desires that truly fulfill us and bring genuine joy to our lives is very different—and that is what we need.
In The Pathway to Success, you will discover a deeper understanding of what it means to seek success God's way. Through her practical, relatable insights based on God’s Word, beloved Bible teacher Joyce Meyer reveals how to actively pursue the keys to true, lasting success. Full of rich encouragement and timeless wisdom, The Pathway to Success will allow you to refocus your life and fulfill your God-given destiny as you walk out the purpose He’s planned for you.
If there is one thing you can count on, it is that I love to read books written by Joyce Meyer. The Pathway to Success is no exception to that rule.
The Pathway to Success details eleven ways in which we can become successful people – both in our faith and in our everyday lives – not in the way the world defines success, but how God defines it. Ms. Meyer talks about the ways in which we can use Biblical principals to further ourselves both in life, in faith, and if we are called to it, in ministry.
We are treated to glimpses of how Ms. Meyer built up Joyce Meyer Ministries, which for me was a great thing to see. She uses these glimpses to show us how trusting in God and His leadership can help you to become a success by applying the principles she’s giving in the book.
One thing I love about Joyce Meyer is that she never claims to be perfect. She tells when she struggles with something – even if it is something she has struggled with for years. I also love that when she gives you a principle for being successful, she backs it up with Scripture – and she gives the references for those scriptures so you can go to your Bible and read it for yourself. There is nothing that bugs me more than seeing someone say “The Bible says…” and then not giving the references (like I mentioned in this review).
Am I saying that everyone will be able to put all eleven of these principles into action? No, because I don’t know your situation. Perhaps some of them won’t be actionable, but I believe most of the will. I know that I plan to start incorporating these principles into my life as soon as possible.
I gave this book five stars because I love Joyce Meyer and because The Pathway to Success is an excellent resource for finding Christian, Biblical ways to be a successful person. Not in the way the world defines success, but in the way God defines success.
